Day Camp

Kids agree: “Best Week of the Summer!”

Dickson Valley Day Camp has been in Operation since 2014, and after ministering to over 5,300 kids in those 11 years

Parent Voices from Summer 2025:

“I knew my kids were safe, cared for, and surrounded by counselors I could trust.”

“Best experience! Don’t hesitate — my child came home happier, more confident, and excited to go back.”

“We love that camp is close to home, screen-free, and full of outdoor fun.”

What Parents Value Most:

Safety & Trust — Peace of mind knowing kids are cared for in a Christian environment.

Counselor Impact — Again and again, parents said counselors were the highlight of their child’s experience.

Confidence & Growth — Parents noticed their campers coming home more confident and joyful.

Unplugged Fun — Screen-free adventures not far from home.

At Dickson Valley Day Camp, we believe summer should be more than just “getting through the weeks.” It should be a season your child remembers with joy- full of outdoor adventure, meaningful friendships, and moments of faith that last far beyond summer!

Safety & Supervision

At Dickson Valley, safety isn’t just a priority — it’s part of our ministry of care. From the moment campers arrive to the moment they head home, our trained team is focused on creating a secure and nurturing environment where kids can thrive.

Trained & Prepared

Our staff complete comprehensive safety training before summer begins, including emergency procedures, first aid, camper supervision, and situational awareness. Every counselor knows how to respond calmly and confidently — whether it’s a scraped knee or a homesick camper.

Camper-to-Staff Ratios

We keep group sizes reasonable to ensure every child receives personal attention. Counselors stay in the same cabins as their campers, providing constant supervision, care, and support throughout the week.

Health & Medication Care

All staff are Red Cross certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid, and equipped to handle basic medical needs. If a camper requires professional care, our leadership team coordinates promptly with parents and local medical providers.

Medications are kept secure and administered with care:

  • During meals, our camp director (Mallory) personally oversees medication distribution and documentation.

  • In the evenings, if medication is needed after hours, a trained counselor ensures it’s given at the correct time and recorded appropriately.

Homesickness Support

We know being away from home can be a big step — and that’s okay! Our counselors are trained to walk with campers through those first few days, offering encouragement, comfort, and prayer. If a camper is struggling or simply needs to hear a familiar voice, we’re happy to facilitate a phone call home and help them feel reassured. Often, a short conversation and a little extra care make all the difference.

At every level, our goal is for campers to feel safe, known, and cared for — because when kids feel secure, they can fully enjoy all that camp has to offer.

Staff

Our overnight camp staff are more than just leaders — they’re mentors, role models, and friends. Every counselor is chosen for their heart for ministry, love for kids, and enthusiasm for creating unforgettable experiences.

Before summer begins, our team completes over 55 hours of specialized training covering supervision, cabin life, safety, and spiritual leadership. All staff are Red Cross certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid, and MinistrySafe certified to ensure the highest standards of care and protection.

At Dickson Valley, we believe people make all the difference. Our staff are the heartbeat of camp — joyful, compassionate, and committed to helping every camper grow in confidence and faith.

Meals

Delicious and kid-approved! Overnight campers enjoy three hearty meals a day, plus snacks in the afternoon. Meals are freshly prepared on-site by our friendly kitchen team and served buffet style in the dining hall.

We accommodate most food allergies and dietary restrictions- just let us know your child’s needs on the registration form, and our kitchen will take care of it. Campers never go hungry and always leave the table smiling (and sometimes asking for seconds!).
